LICADD extends heartfelt gratitude for the support of the 2nd Annual Women's Empowerment Luncheon (WEL) on Friday, December 6, 2024, a powerful event dedicated to supporting women in recovery from substance use disorder and related challenges for a unique opportunity for professional growth and development.

This impactful day not only celebrated resilience and growth, but also featured our exceptional honoree, Theresa A. Regnante, President and CEO of United Way of Long Island. LICADD had the honor of presenting Theresa with the inaugural Lillian McCormick Professional Achievement Award in recognition of her unwavering commitment to improving lives through health, education and financial stability which exemplifies the support of empowerment we aim to foster.

Under Theresa's leadership, the United Way of Long Island launched groundbreaking initiatives, including the Net Zero Energy Building Campaign and the Workforce Development Training Academy, as well as vital support for veterans and seniors. Her dedication to collaboration across sectors has sparked community-led change, benefiting countless lives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors, supporters, the 2024 WEL Committee, peers, volunteers and staff for helping to make this event possible. A special thanks to Vanessa Baird-Streeter President and CEO of Health & Welfare Council of Long Island, for being an incredible Emcee, a special thanks to Dr. Peter and Marie Pruden and the family of Lillian McCormick and Supervisor Jennifer DeSena for joining us.

With your support, LICADD is empowered to make a tangible difference in the lives of women in our community, enabling them to continue to build a stable and fulfilling life in recovery.
