Connor Petersen is a Mental Health Counselor who earned his master's degree in mental health counseling from SUNY Old Westbury. He also has a bachelor's degree in psychology from SUNY Binghamton. Before joining the LICADD staff, Connor spent a year and a half during his master's program as a clinical intern from February 2023 to May 2024.
Connor now works as an Anger Management Clinician, providing services to clients and helping them learn coping skills, improve their communication, and navigate the complex challenges of the world. Connor also provides counseling services surrounding general mental health, student & employee assistance, and substance use.
Connor utilizes a multimodal counseling approach with a focus on psychodynamic and person-centered theory. Connor strongly believes in meeting the client where they are mentally and emotionally and working with them to better understand their lives and the challenges within them. He also believes that therapy is a resource that can be utilized by people from any background and strives for a multiculturally competent counseling space.
