Join LICADD in partnership with the Town of Brookhaven Department of General Services, Youth Bureau Division on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 9:30 AM-12:00 PM at Brookhaven Town Hall OR virtually for an interactive and important workshop on Co-occurring Disorders Among Youth: Research & Best Practices and gain practical, evidence-based strategies to better understand and support young people experiencing both mental health and substance use challenges.
During this workshop, you'll:
- Explore current trends in youth mental health and co-occurring disorders.
- Understand the adolescent brain and key risk and protective factors.
- Recognize common co-occurring disorders and early warning signs.
- Examine the connection between mental health and substance use.
- Learn evidence-based prevention, intervention, and treatment strategies.

This workshop is FREE to attend (advanced registration required) and is open to all who are interested - including mental health professionals, educators, parents/guardians, and other community members. Registration closes on 08/10/26, and there are limited in-person spots available. Those attending in-person will have access to a light breakfast. Completion of this workshop will provide 2.5 CEUs for eligible LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, and CASACs.
