Info: Join LICADD for this virtual workshop during Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) that is designed to deepen participants understanding of the complex and often intertwined relationship between eating disorders (EDs) and substance use disorders (SUDs). This workshop will explore common clinical presentations, shared risk factors, overlapping neurobiological and psychological mechanisms, and common challenges in the identification and treatment of these co-occurring disorders.
Participants will gain practical guidance on comprehensive assessment strategies and evidence-based, trauma-responsive interventions that address both conditions simultaneously. This workshop will also identify best practices for engaging individuals and families, as well as supporting recovery across systems of care.
