Celebrating Hope, Healing, and 70 Years of Service
Over 250 supporters, treatment partners, community leaders, advocates, and families gathered for the 70th Anniversary Father Peter Sweisgood & Gabriel’s Giving Tree Healing & Recovery Breakfast, a special morning dedicated to honoring lives changed, remembering loved ones lost, and celebrating the power of hope, healing, and recovery.
The event recognized two extraordinary individuals whose lives and leadership reflect a deep commitment to serving others. Gary McGlinchey, CEAP, SAP, LAP-C, was presented with the Fisher of Men Award, while Father Francis Pizzarelli, SMM, received the Earth Angel Award. Their compassion, service, and dedication embody the spirit of this annual gathering and the shared mission of LICADD and Gabriel’s Giving Tree.
As LICADD celebrates 70 years of service to Long Island, the breakfast served as a powerful reminder that healing happens through connection, compassion, and community. Proceeds from the event help support prevention education, recovery and family support services, and access to critical resources for Long Islanders impacted by substance use, grief, and loss.
