Family Support Group

Saturdays from 10:00-11:30am in both the Holbrook and Westbury offices

You are not alone! This is an open group, no appointment necessary. The support group helps families, friends, parents, siblings and spouses identify struggles they are experiencing with a loved one that struggles with the use of drugs and/or alcohol.

Eating Disorder Support Group

Monday evenings 7:00 to 8:30pm in Holbrook office only

It is not what you’re eating it is what’s eating you. This group is designed to assist men and women ages 18 and up explore how food or lack of food affects their life. Group goals include building self-esteem, exploring secrets, body image, positive risk taking, relationship issues as well as discussing feelings thoughts and emotions. We do require that interested individuals come in for a one-on-one session before participating in the group.

Grief and Loss Group

Saturdays from 11:30 am to 1:00pm in both Westbury and Holbrook offices

This group is open to families and friends who have lost someone to the disease of addiction. The group is professionally facilitated and focuses on the stages of grief and loss, managing one’s emotions and working effectively through the healing process.

Positive Recovery Support Group

Mondays at 12:00 in the Westbury office only

This is a support group for those who are living with HIV/AIDS and are also in recovery from substance use.

Self-Help Groups

LICADD’s has a long history of connections to the self-help community. For more information about self-help groups hosted onsite and in the community, please call us.

If you are not sure if a group is right for you, please call us to schedule an individual appointment. We can provide any of the above services as individual counseling on a sliding scale fee structure.
